Local Weekly Briefing

Write for us

We welcome clear, original proposals about how local places are formed, read and remembered. Send your pitch through the Contact page; a short note is enough to begin.

What we welcome

Pitch an evergreen piece about a place name, street pattern, landmark, shared space or local rhythm. Useful ideas explain a feature, compare distinct approaches, unpack a common misconception or help readers notice a place in a new way.

What makes a strong pitch

Tell us the central question, the main point you would make and why it would interest a general reader. Say what material or knowledge the piece would rely on, flag uncertainty, and explain how your idea differs from a familiar overview.

Before sending

We look for focused, original proposals in plain English, not finished articles or promotional copy. Do not include private information about other people. Proposals and questions about contributions should be sent through the Contact page.
