Local Weekly Briefing

Editorial policy

Local Weekly Briefing aims to make clear, careful writing about local places. We explain what a piece can support, distinguish description from interpretation and correct meaningful errors openly.

Accuracy and independence

We check names, descriptions and factual claims against reliable information available to us before publication. We do not present an inference as a settled fact or imply that a general account represents every person who knows a place. Editorial decisions and conclusions remain independent of commercial relationships.

Corrections

If you spot an error, send the relevant article title and a concise description through the Contact page. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, amend the text and make the correction clear to readers.

Partner material

Paid collaborations and partner placements are identified clearly so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. Payment does not buy an editorial conclusion, and partner material is not presented as independent reporting.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Where an illustration is AI-generated, we identify it as such and do not use it as evidence of what a real place or event looks like.
